Valid points.  We often assign symbolism to things with no apparent cause or value.  In Kathmandu, Nepal there are sacred rocks in the middle of the road protected by fences and  they're a good two feet below the surface (ie. been like that for a while).  They have acquired meaning well beyond their status as rocks.

The collision is certain to bring out a wide range of human emotions in a lot of different people.  Bad luck?  Doom?  Hope?  Has the prepublicity (so to speak) in the form of the two movies altered our perceptions or expectations?  Would anyone be disappointed if it's just a random event after all?

All thoughts welcome. Untitled Document
