But it still saddens me when it happens....<<

I don't normally post here in this folder as I stopped bodybuilding several years ago (though I'd like to start up again), but there seemed to be an underlying tone here that bothered me. It came thru a number of the posts so I am not picking on you Hercules61.

The word "prostitute" has long been used in a derogatory sense to slam these people for alleged moral depravity, but stripped of the emotional rhetoric, that business is fundamentally no different than selling anything else. We've used these folks as proverbial whipping boys for a long long time.

I personally couldn't give a flying bleep about whether someone wants to use their body to make money so long as that is THEIR choice. That is the distinction that I think people should be concerned about. In the sex industries of Asia they basically lure them in, trap them, exploit them, and dump them, often to die. That form of slavery exists here as well. And then we heap contempt upon them as the crowning insult.

Using your body to make money doesn't have to involve these negatives. If someone CHOOSES to make a living this way then who are we to say otherwise. And remember the customer is NOT always right, but then that's another discussion :)
