From my perspective the answer is no. Of course the only person I can speak directly for on this subject is myself. It wasn't all that long ago that the Catholic church tried to "cure" left handedness with the result that the kids developed all kinds of other problems like stuttering and low self esteem. Left handedness was once considered the sign of the devil. This particular example is a perfect allegory of what many church's are doing to us and the left handed gene hasn't been found yet either. Most of us were "taught" to hate ourselves from a very early age. Gay love (which is much more than just sex) thrives against every attempt to repress it.
A person who became gay as a result of trauma such as sexual abuse can of course return to their inherent orientation if they that's what they desire. See my post of about a month ago on that particular subject.
I don't know anything about Desert Streams except that the name itself is negative. It implies that being gay is a desert and that their particular "cure" is the stream. Well to be harsh... if they'd stop stealing the water of life from this community and stop pretending they're doing us a favor by offering it back as a trickling stream we'd all be a lot better off...
