A number of studies that have been done on child abuse suggest that a slightly higher percentage of gay people were abused as children (perhaps because we were more vulnerable). And while people deal with abuse in many many different ways, there is nothing like the suggestion that child abuse is ok to bring out the anger in people, some of whom bear the scars of such abuse.

A very astute observation. "coming on to the customers." Many of the young men I've seen in the big cities have designated territories and corners which suggests more of a systemic organized abuse and not the innocent exploration of sexuality which you suggest. Many pedophiles are experts at luring and trapping their victims. And of course a traveller on the streets of Asian cities soon sickens of the wisper of "young girl" sandwiched between "rickshaw" and "cocaine". And extremely young girls and boys alike can be had for a few measily dollars.

In the name of free market forces supplying customer demand, young people are lured, trapped, exploited, and dumped, often to die.

Sounds kinda innocent and romantic doesn't it? ;)

The roots of this problem are very deep and very old and the consequences extremely destructive.

I think the advocation of child abuse under the cover of "innocense" at least deserves a little rhetorical flaming, don't you?
